Why You Should Wear Perfume to Webinars

A dear friend of mine is going through a deep emotional struggle right now. She is not alone, but she feels alone. As I gently asked her some questions, she gave me responses like, "because I'm a lazy loser."

Whoa!!! Pump the brakes here. You can't talk like that to someone I love. That is not okay. The first person we have to be kind to is ourselves. As they say, we cannot pour from an empty vessel, especially when we are the ones emptying it!

I did something kind of silly to be kind to myself today. Before I hosted a webinar for entrepreneurs this afternoon, I gave myself a spray of my fancy perfume. It was bought for me years ago and it's ridiculously expensive, so I use it very sparingly. I gave myself permission to use it today.... for a webinar. I am the only one who can smell me.

But it made me feel good! It filled up my vessel to help me pour into my attendees. And it worked! I felt great and I was able to deliver my content with confidence.

Could I have done it without the perfume? Yes, of course. Could I have done it without consistently finding ways to be kind to myself on a regular basis while telling myself I'm a "lazy loser"? Nope. Not a bit.

If you wouldn't say it to someone you love, then don't say it to you. And wear perfume to webinars.
